Biography

​Born in Canada with Czech roots, Yvonne Black is a DJ, producer, and vocalist based between Phoenix and Los Angeles. With over 20 years in the industry, she has built a career rooted in original music—writing, producing, and singing—while delivering high-energy sets at premier venues and festivals around the world.

Blending techno, deep house, afro house, and progressive, Yvonne is known for her refined taste and commanding presence behind the decks, delivering high-energy performances and original productions that set her apart in the electronic music scene.
Alongside Joseph Christopher, she forms the duo Dakota & Black (also known as Bitter Persona), boasting over 50 original releases and numerous remixes across major labels. Their catalog is available on Spotify, iTunes, Beatport, and all major streaming platforms.

Yvonne has shared the stage with electronic music heavyweights including Paul van Dyk, Nadia Ali, Morgan Page, Harry “Choo Choo” Romero, Cedric Gervais, Eddie Halliwell, Christopher Lawrence, and more. Her performance résumé includes Winter Music Conference, Exchange LA, Insomniac events, The Love Festival, Avalon, Vanguard, Empire Ballroom, Playhouse Hollywood, Toca Madera, and international stages from Vancouver to Mexico City.

Her work has been featured on SiriusXM, and she is signed to Dakota West Recordings in Los Angeles. Currently holding residencies at Global Ambassador and WOLF | Caesars Republic, Yvonne Black continues to push creative boundaries—both in the studio and behind the decks.
